Cambridge Assessment English, a non-profit foundation of the University of Cambridge, and Nebrija have signed a collaboration agreement whereby Nebrija, in addition to recognizing Cambridge qualifications as valid to demonstrate knowledge of English, will promote the organization of courses training among their students. In this way, Madrid university students will be able to prepare and take the prestigious B1 Preliminary, B2 First, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency exams, the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) exam and; In addition, they will also have access to Cambridge Business English Certificates (BEC).
The agreement has been signed by Xavier Ballesteros, general director for Spain and Portugal of Cambridge Assessment English; José Muñiz Fernández, magnificent rector of the Nebrija University; Pilar Alcover, director of Institutes Nebrija, and Debbie Rimmer, director of International House Madrid, the entity that will be in charge of managing the exams.
All of them have expressed their commitment to language teachingand, in particular, of English from the importance that this language has in a multicultural Europe and in the university space that emerged from the Bologna Process. The signing ceremony was also attended by Jesús González, area manager for Madrid and Castilla-León of Cambridge Assessment English; Gregorio Martínez, Director of Institutional Relations at Nebrija; and Alicia de la Peña and Melisa Teves, representing the Institute of Modern Languages of the Nebrija University.
